    Default Basement Theater/Entertainment room.

Nothing too fancy here, but useful for us. Done in 2008 but just saw this forum now.

Basement was partially finished with an existing drop ceiling and walls built to separate the un-finished/storage space and also around the stairwell and duct work.

Dad and i built 2x4 walls and anchored to block wall with angle brackets and concrete screws. I ran the wiring behind the new 2x4 walls and in ceiling. Had someone else do the drywall for me and used a mold resistant product even though the basement is bone dry (knocked on wood). Installed some tile, and some new kitchen cabinets, and bought a new SS fridge and light fixture. Had counter top and half-wall top made custom. I did the baseboard and crown molding and pole encasement myself which turned out nice I think.

    The goodies:
    -67" Samsung DLP (LED)
-Yamaha receiver (runs concurrent operations and is powering yard rock speakers as well.
-Sony Playstation3 for games and Bluray
-Speakercraft in-wall speakers beside TV and on sides of seating space.

Very nice remodel! Looks like a great space to hang out and kick it. One nit picky thing though, the little tiny window treatments gotta go. Throw some floor to ceiling drapes over the windows and it will give the look that you have full windows in the basement and would add a little color to the walls. Looks great though!

good point! I'm not much for design and neither is the wife. Make sense though.
