The future of 3-D TV
Various companies have 3-D glasses that will be coming out in the near future for HT use. My question is are they universal? eg; Sony glasses on a Panasonic TV?

Actually this already exists in the Out of Home advertising/marketing world.
Their are a couple problems but the biggest one is the time intensive/cost to reproduce these images in 3D through "Auto-Stereoscope".
At this point graphics look much better then live images but that is improving fast.
Check out this link for one of the companies that have created this:
Magnetic 3D | Auto-Stereoscopic 3D Displays, 3D Content & 3D Digital Signage
It's actually been around for several years now but it's getting more and more realistic to reproduce for the masses as well as to have broadcast TV actual transmit in this format.
In 2D it's hard to see but here is a live example from NAB.

Yes especially for people like me who wear glasses. The 3D specs I wore for alice in wonderland killed my head, kept applying pressure on my glasses. Main reason I asked is if i find glasses from lets say Phillips ( just threw that out there, don't know if they make glasses ) that work for me will they work on a Sony or any other TV.
