    Default Velodyne Subs?? any info?

Trying to get some input on Velodyne Subwoofer line... I'm in the market to install a home theater system in my new house.. Nothing over the top.. Just trying to put together a decent setup around 2-3grand (amp/reciever & 5.1) My buddy recommended either a Denon or Yamaha receiver and Velodyne sub. No idea on which satelite speakers/center channel yet. Any input would be greatly appreciated.. Thanks in advance.

I bought my sub brand new on ebay for $250, when the msrp was $699.

you mind as well look at cambridge soundworks value-wise...current velodyne stuff isnt what it used to be, but should be adequate paried with your basic denon, yamaha entry level piece. If you do some deal hunting you may be able to find some entry level kef or b&w's in your range...Research each piece and buy the right gear instead of crap you'll regret later on.

Everyone is going to be different, so try to hear as many pieces in person as possible and go from there.

I bought an Velodyne HGS-12 (?) about 10 years ago for my home theater set up. This thing rocks the drywall on the other side of the house.
