Default Team ER's Route from NJ to ATL

So I know there are a few threads about caravans, but I wanted to start one with our team's finalized route down to ATL. Hopefully we can plan to pick up a few more GR4 cars along the way. I don't mind stopping and waiting a bit wait for a car to join or even going slightly out of the way, as long as it makes sense for both of us.

We plan to leave NJ on Monday June 11th at approximately 9PM and start our drive down to ATL. As we have 3 people in the car, we plan to make the drive down in one straight shot and only stopping for gas and food. This should put us in ATL late-morning/early afternoon on Tuesday June 12th (one day before the West Coast leg lands in ATL).

It would be fantastic if we could pick-up another 1, 2, or more cars along the way for the ride down to ATL.

Here is the overview of our route
    • Start in Central NJ
    • Drive to Philadelphia via 95 South
    • From Philadelphia, take 895 South down through Maryland
    • Merge onto 295 South to 95 South to move past DC and through VA
    • Hop onto 85 South as we enter North Carolina
    • Continue on 85 South for 300+ miles until we hit ATL

Well I'd assume you're just looking for company or someone to share driving with we have 3 in our car. I'm sure we can swap around so you're not driving 15 hours straight

Have a safe trip down, and get plenty of photos of the trip.

I can't wait either, we'll likely be waiting in the lobby as you guys come in on Wednesday. With GR4 around the corner, this is going to be the slowest week of my life :bite nails:

We'll catch up with the 7 staff members and any other teams who are in early on Tuesday. Hopefully grab some drinks and good dinner.

Thanks buddy, there won't be much to document on the drive down as the bulk of our drive is at night. My biggest concerns for this shot down to ATL at night are:
    • Closed or Poor Quality Gas Stations
    • Deer or Other Animals
    • Unsafe Rest Areas

With some planning and precaution we should be fine. Start looking for gas when be have about 60-70 miles left on the tank, drive slow and be alert (grab a hotel if we are all too tired), and that last is a bit of a concern traveling at night. I've heard of and had a personal experience with unsafe/unpatrolled/unmonitored rest areas in MD and VA - We'll just have to be cautious of where we choose to stop.

I have driven to Atlanta about 8 times already and I always leave at night. Trust me you will have no issues on the way down. Best time I have so far is about 12 hours 45 minutes.

Good to know. We have 3 people so we can easily switch off and get some rest in between.

We won't be leaving Northern VA/DC until early Tuesday, so we'll miss you going down.
