SS's take on GR...
After getting home and catching up on some rest, I thought I'd lay down my thoughts on this event. I'll keep it short.
Sometimes, dealing with large groups of people can resemble herding cats...Abel and Ramin made it appear seamless, even if it wasn't. It's not often that an event full of characters, egos, different toys, and different tastes can be executed with so few gaps. From the first time rally people to the veterans, I know I speak for the whole UNFWBL team in saying that we were proud to be part of it. L4P showed us that you don't need quasi-celebrities, crazy branding efforts, and high cost entry to leave everyone feeling satisfied, respected, and safe.
The organizers intention from day one was to create a fraternity of friends. My girlfriend told me today that the most amazing thing about this event is that for many people it was the first time meeting each other - yet we all greeted each other with hugs and parted ways with phone numbers. Mission accomplished.
Four cheers to GR and here's to bigger and better in '10.
