Want to Remodel Garage, Need Help!
Sup L4P fam....
The home I purchased last year has been great. BUT, now I need to turn my attention to the garage. It looks like a mess right now, well mostly because it is. BUT we have a lot of stuff stored inside right now, in anticipation for Hurricane Irene.
It is a 2 car garage, roughly 22x22. I DO on occasion get some water that creeps through the right side door and makes a puddle. PUZZLES myself and a couple of contractors I have had over. The doors have all new seals and are as tight as they can go. Also, I replaced the gutters and piping above the garage with 6inch for better flow. Unless it is coming from somewhere else, who knows. It's nothing crazy - but also figure in the winter with all the snow - when I pull my cars in..they will be covered in snow and leave puddles.
My question is. Do I only do some sort of floor tile ; ie racedeck, sears gladiator or etc on the Work Bench area? ( I will be shopping at sears for some new craftsman stuff for a new work space ) OR do I just paint the entire floor in some sort of coating and paint the walls with new cabinets and etc?
I had a company that specializes in remodeling garages come over, BUT OMG, they wanted like 15k. That is nuts. GarageTek was the name of the company. A pic is what they sent me for a birdseye view.
Here are some pics. Any input???

You can get race deck flooring called "free flow" allows fluid to channel under it.
FreeFlow Self Draining Garage Floor Tiles | RaceDeck
As for storage, check out home depot, sears, lowes, coscto. TONS of options and complete systems.
get a couple buddies over for the day or two and some beer and install it all.
I just re-did my whole garage. Mostly shelving and just re-organizing and saved a LOT of money by doing it myself.

I didnt use race deck, i was just suggesting that particular kind for your need.
I have slate floors in my garage. Most the work benches and shelving came from my old shop. I have a 7ft Snap On tool box and a rolling tool box and I did basic wood cabinets and a lot of shelving on one side. When i get the little stuff cleaned up, I will snap some pictures.
