Cost of Standalone Garage Additions
Looking at moving to a new city and none of the houses, no matter how big, have large garages.
What type of cost are garage additions usually? Don't need anything super fancy underground lift type stuff, just a typical garagew addition... $100-150/sq ft reasonable?
Thanks.

$150 / foot is reasonable, but it will depend on several factors, locale, general, timber, brick, metal, etc. etc. etc. But for a rough line item, 150 is a fair planning number and likely a touch on the high side.

i completed a 600sf addtion to my garage last year. it has 13' ceilings, impact glass, 175mph doors, barrel tile roof, etc,etc.. i pulled a owner/builder permit and was the GC. cost? about $105sf. had i hired a contractor to do this it would have been $135-140 or more. FWIW. we have very heavy building codes here in south Florida.
