Thread: Anyone here build a house instead of buying?

The wife and I are entertaining the ideas of building out next home and have talked to some companies but I know nothing about this process. Anyone here ever do it or their family do it? I figured it's a great time since home builders are hurting for business right now.

Building a house is great... just be prepared for it to take longer and cost more than you think.

Mind me asking what you paid per sqft? We are getting quoted $350 which is ludicrous.

Basement garage is exactly what we are going to do also

6 years of misery.

I love his place, had no idea he built it though. Thinking about it now it seems too perfect a match for him for him to have just found it.
