Default Ferrari Enzo: Ca. DMV Registration Fees

Has anyone picked up the latest issue of Heavy Hitters? There is an article about a guy that has a Ferrari Enzo, Versace Lambo etc. In the article he mentions that he paid $175,000 for his Enzo DMV registration fees!!! Is that right?? I has to be a misprint! How much are the Ca. DMV Fees for an Enzo, or any of the newer Ferraris for that matter?

I know in most states you pay sales tax on the vehicle when you register it in a private party sale as opposed to buying it at a dealership in your state and paying it then and there. So my guess is that includes sales tax!

it sounds high. if the sales tax for the state is still the same as the time i bought a car in cali i think its 7.75% of 1,000,000 its 77k but with the markup of the car might bring that up a little, maybe. but still 175k is high. but who knows maybe thats with insurance factored in for the year.

I have to agree with Eddie, seems way to high to be just DMV fees alone.

    seems very high.

In MI, the SoS (dmv) is based off your car's original price. My car is $380/year based off ~$100k.

in cali its 1.5% of the purchase price + other fees is what it has been in the past for a normal automobile.
A world where medical advances allow us to live forever is a terrifying thought...

Based on the crazy world that we live in, I believe that's what he paid for the DMV registration fees with some other stuff included but that's way too much. Most people don't even make $100 K a year let alone be able to pay $175 K for this shit.

True, but if you're buying an Enzo, I doubt he really cares.
