    Default Ferrari 360 battery

Need a new battery for my 360. Anybody know a cross reference battery that will work. Problem is the previous owner put in an Interstate that doesn't quite fit so I can't just measure it. Thanks for any help.

Let me tell you about the 360/F430 battery. There are a lot of batteries that can be made to fit. Most people end up installing an optima gell cell - and they think they are very smart and smug in doing so. Here are the issues:

The battery on the 360/430 is located inside the passenger cabin. It needs to be vented outside the passenger cabin via the factory vent hose. An optima (gell cell or not) is an externally vented battery with two charcoal vent caps and no provission to attach or even make up a vent hose system. Therefore it vents acid vapors inside the cabin.

Now, the problem with conventional lead acid batteries that do have a vent system is this. If you are unfortunate enough to get into a collision in the right front corner of the car, and the battery case cracks, the interior and occupants of your vehicle will be sprayed with battery acid.

    The solution?

Suck it up and pay the $350 for a factory activated glass mat battery that fits and is safe. Install a bettery tender (and actually use it) and the battery will last 5 to 7 years.

    The End.

Sounds good. The money isn't the issue, it's time. Whoever put this Interstate battery in here is a complete idiot because it's barely held in...awesome.

Wouldn't the best / safest option be to take it down to your local Ferrari garage ?
