2012 612 Development mule spied
Keep in mind, this is a chassis development mule used to evaluate running gear (engine, transmission, etc) and chassis (wheel base, suspension geometry, etc) This is NOT what the car will look like.
Some of you may remember that the chassis developent mule for the Ferrari California was wearing Maserati Gran Turismo body panels, as they are similar sized cars, and later wore shortened 599 body panels.

Our spies have caught new pictures of Ferrari's next-generation 612 Scaglietti.
Undergoing testing near the Arctic Circle, the development mule is showing a longer wheelbase, a new exhaust system, a redesigned front bumper, and a budging hood. According to our men on the ground, the mule was being run alongside two other prototypes with similar modifications.
While details are limited, power will likely come from a V12 engine with at least 397 kW (533 hp / 540 PS) and 588 Nm (434 lb-ft) of torque. Backed up by a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, the 612 should accelerate from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in less than four seconds, before topping at 200+ mph (322+ km/h). Unlike today's model, the 612 replacement could offer an all-wheel drive system.
If you're inclined to buy a Ferrari for status, you may be interested to learn the 612 could come in hybrid guise. As previewed by the HY-KERS concept, which recently debuted at the Geneva Motor Show, the hybrid would probably feature a three-phase electric motor and a lithium-ion battery pack.
Since the car is expected to be launched in 2012, look for Ferrari to start testing a prototype of the production model later this year.Last edited by Challenge It; 03-19-2010 at 12:44 AM.

I think the 612 is just like the panamera. Ugly and pointless.
Both are huge and even though both perform very well, I think they should get rid of 'em.| Some say_ that he's working on his 3rd million since the first 2 didn't work out.
