What are you looking for? Easy acceleration or a sharp steering/handling car. As far as "presence" and "image" and all that BS, I know nothing.

I was hoping you would chime in here. I know the Lambo being all wheel drive isn't the easiest car to maneuver. I also get that the thing is literally a Bull as far as handling and driving experience compared to the "prancing horse" of the F-car.
At the end of the day, there's no doubt that each car will get plenty of attention (not really a concern of mine).
I am looking at it more from a "cost effective" stand point of sorts.
Having said that, I am leaning towards the Lambo because it just seems like it might fit the bill for me so to speak.... probably in every sense of the word.
I wish I were able to make a move right now quite honestly. Just came across an 08 Superleggera optioned out to the max, 3,000 miles, recently serviced, for 139k. And that's there asking price, so it's probably safe to say it might be attainable at 135k or so.....EARNED, AND NOT GIVEN....

Look at both warrranties (if they're new enough models). The Ferrari 430 Warranty I've had for 4 years with 1 year extended + unlimited mileage. This has been invaluable. I even have a brand new 430 engine courtesy of Ferrari ($60,000 cost). I don't believe the Lambo has as good of a warranty. These cars can REALLY! get expensive if you need to replace things.
I've driven both and love the looks of the Lambo as well as the 430. The 430 handles so much better. Both stock are similarly as fast.
Good luck.

Ferrari 430s hold their value much better than a gallardo. Their maintenance is much cheaper and easier as well. Service interval for a gallardo is every 3,000 miles while F430 is one every 15,000 plus Ferrari doesn't have to pull the engines out like they used to on older models. Ferrari is a nicer car (IMO) to drive, because I'm a RWD nut. Gallardo sounds amazing though when taken to those mighty RPMs. It's really personal choice. Their performance is the same but pricing is different for maintance, resale, ect. I'd take the F430.

Which Gallardo are you buying that needs service every 3k miles?

Maintenence is MUCH higher in the F430. As for resale... Not all that much seperates the 2 now, and when you factor in the premiums most people paid on the F430's resale is also in the Gallardos favor...

3K services; that's news to me.

heres my unbiased opinion:
servicing on the f430 is much cheaper, and the cars tend to be a bit more reliable, suitable for as daily drivers. the gallardos are a bitch to service and lets not forget the problematic e-gear and clutch problems. anything before '06 you can forget it.
you see less gallardos on the roards than f430s, (at least in aust) so if exclusivity is your thing, go for it, 06+ models only! PS: lamborghinis will get you attention from plenty of young men. if you want the women, go for the f430, and the world is your oyster.

Re: 430 or Gallardo??
Complety no first hand experience except one drive in each.
The fact that MTK daily drives his 430, makes me feel Ferrari did something right off the track. All the Gallardo owners that I've talked to in my area, garage queen them becuase they are afraid of maitence issues, true or not. So it puts off that I'm rich but can't afford an oil change. Ya know?East bound and down, loaded up and truckin',
we're gonna do what they say can't be done.
