Koenigseggs leaseing contract of the factory aswell as parts of the runway has expired, and Peab AB, the owner of the facility, is planning to build a major warehouse aswell as a trucking center on the grounds wich would force Koenigsegg to a new location.

According to the article Koenigsegg together with the Ängelholm municipalty are working on to try and find a new location with runway access where the company can continue to produce cars. Halmstad, Ljungbyhed aswell as Landskrona are mentioned in the article as possible future factory locations as there are runways Koenigsegg could access.

Hopefully something really good comes out of this, maybe a factory with higher capacity than the current 12 cars per year? And perhaps a factory wich represents the company better than the current, awfull looking one :lol:

One of Koenigsegg's most unique assets in Ängelholm is a private test track just outside the factory. All serious hyper car manufacturers must have their own one. But now the landowner build on the test track.

Helsingborgs Dagblad reports that Koenigsegg may have to move away from from the former air force wing F10, now Valhall Park, as the landowner Peab design a large warehouse and trucking center where the test track is located today.

Neither Koenigsegg or Peab has no comments because it states that negotiations are ongoing. However, rumors abound that Ronneby may be current, but also Halmstad, Ljungbyhed and Landskrona because everyone has proximity to runways Koenigsegg would be able to use the testing and development.

For Helsingborgs Dagblad comment Halldora von Koenigsegg, "We look on our house and are looking at alternatives." Asa Herbst is Mayor of Ängelholm and says to Helsingborgs Dagblad: "Koenigsegg need a runway/track, and there is nothing we from the municipality can do much about."
