Steptronic
Anyone care to comment on minimum power and torque level you need for a steptronic car?
I test drove an alpine B3s, a 330ci, and a 318ci, and all were lovely except the 318ci which felt underpowered and the transmission was a bit jerky, im putting this down to lack of torque? But i dont need 300hp or even 240hp at the moment, so im wondering if a 325ci would be optimum for me?
"Gas" price here is $8 a gallon hence not just buying a B3s!And this here, is my fourty five...

Define "Need." The torque and powerband is different for every car, but even in my old base model Lancer (168hp), I had steptronic or the equivalent. When you're in a low enough gear and the RPM's are high and you put your foot down it's pretty instant momentum.
325ci with Steptronic could be very fun.

I had a 320dA back in the day, which worked fine with the 6 speed Steptronic.
My 7 series would have been better with the newer 8 speed steptronic though. One of L4P's resident Belgians.
