    Default Thoughts on Audi A3

So, i've been kicking around the idea of picking up a used Audi A3 recently. Just wondering if anybody here had some insight on anything special to look for??

I would be looking in the 06-07 range

Just kinda wondering if they are known for any big problems?

Basically just trying to figure out if it would be a good buy for me??

If anybody owns one or has owned one & could let me know what their thoughts are, that would be great.

    Thanks,
    David

I personally love A3s but a whole new model should be coming in a very short time. They've been out for 7 years now.

I also think an A3 is a well rounded vehicle: good on gas, cheap to run and own, versatile, and looks good. That 2.0T motor is pretty robust, but certainly feed it premium and synthetic on time. Keep up with the maintenance and it will be good to you. Be certain that the previous owner did the same.

    Get the 2.0T, the 3.2 V6 isn't as well-balanced.

Rear-seat legroom is cramped, but ok for short trips and little kids.

Besides that, it's a solid car and can haul a good load once you fold the backseats.

Think about S3. I can say it's great car with 2.0 turbo.

Unfortunately the S3 isn't available in the US.

Yeah & as mush as i would like to have one, it would be well out of my price range even if we could get them!!

    Thanks so far everybody!!

The maintenance thing is what scares me the most! I will need to find somebody who has all the records of what they have done.

I bought an 08 for my wife about a month ago. Love the car. Drives just like my old GTI, but has Audi nice-ities in the interior. Good mileage, good motor, handles great, looks good, can haul plenty of stuff. I think it is really close to being the perfect city car.
