    Default Cheap cars? export?

Hey a friend of our family deals with cars. He got my dad a brand new e-class ('09) model (guess it was the 220 or 230 cdi, dont nail me on that...) (fully loaded) for about 42 000 US-Dollar.

Do you think it would be worth exporting them to the us?

    greets thomi

Don't you pay loads of taxes on importing cars from the US? I mean the two times we bought a car from the US it's atleast 100k more depending on what the pricetag is (due to taxes, and import taxes)

it usually isn't worthwhile trying to import a car into the US if it's already available for sale here. even less so if it's a diesel, because there'd be more regulations to deal with, and you might not be able to get it certified for use/registration in the US. at that point, you'll end up spending more than just buying a legal US-spec model in the first place. now, asia is another matter... would you be interested in exporting from germany to asia?
