Default Mercedes working on the next-generation SL-Class

They just introduced the facelift at the Geneva Show in 2008 and are now already preparing a new model.

How are they gonna top the design that is out now? I've wondered this for a few years now, as the current SL is just gorgeous. I see some SLS styling hues hiding behind the disguise, so it looks like they are off to a good start.

damn already? well its set to debut 2 years from now. but thats only a 4 year life span for the current sl. Its gonna be tough to top the current one.

the current model is pretty dated actually. the facelift is just cosmetic. i do like the design but the performance is lackluster. it's a nice gt car.

let's hope the upcoming model arrives sooner than 2 years. sl are hardly moving these days at dealers.

That does not look too great. Maybe that will change when its actually out. But agreed, the current look is unbeatable, its a gorgeous car....in its current condition.

you're more likely to win the lottery. Maybe someday they'll bring the dual clutch transmission. That's more likely than a 6MT.

True, it can never replace the 3rd pedal. But at least you have more control. Upshifting without you telling it to = fail
