    Default Germany: Munich to Nurburg?

    Hey everyone,
I am trying to figure out how to get from Munich to the "Ring" without renting a car. Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance,
    Stephen

you can take a cab, then take a ring taxi.

When I did it last year, I just rented a car.

I wanna say they also had a shuttle too

I would intend you to use the train and a bus ( because there's no train station at the ring (at least none that I know of ))
    try it with this website:

Yes, it is a pain to get from Munich to the Ring without a car, but it can be done.

You can either use the train (as suggested above) or you can fly to Cologne/Bonn and take the train from there....
The tendency is to push it as far as you can!

Alright. Any one know of any good rental companies with high end cars that will rent to ring drivers?

Munich to Nurburg is not a short journey.

I think any rental company will laugh their socks off if you say I'd like to rent a car, let alone a high end car and then 'do the ring'.

Of course what people say and do is another matter, but remember 'the ring' is treated as a public road and the liabilities and ramifications are the same.

I'd say train or rent a car, then rent a car for the ring from a ring specialist.

That's what I was insinuating....I've found one company that offers packages for the ring(5,10,15+ laps), but I don't know how they are compared to others.

What do you all think about flying into Cologne and heading down to Nurburg?

I think that this is the best and most relaxing choice. I can only recommend flying to Cologne, taking a rental at the airport and drive it down to the Ring. Seems the most comfortable, since you are flexible and comfortable at the same time.

A car rental company that I can highly recommend for the ring is Car Hire | Sports Race Car Rental | Luxury Car Rental | Nurburgring | Nordschleife | Hockenheim | Lotus Car Hire | Driver Training. Great choice of middle and high end cars. Most of important, they are insured for ring racing etc...
