Thread: iPhone 5 Vs. Samsung S3 - Sheep Vs. Sheep - There Has to Be Something Better

This is a bit of a rant but why the hell is there so much tension between these two phones and the cellphone consumers? Literally as I see it Apple lovers are going nuts over a phone that is honestly a slight bit faster, longer, and an ounce lighter than it's predecessor. On the other hand you have the people who love andriod or are just over all the iPhone hype going for a phone that's more of the same, just larger and runs on a different system.

There has to be something else out there that doesn't put us in the iPhone 5 or Samsung S3 category that outdoes these two phones.

Only thing that comes to mind is a Vertu phone but I don't see any major appeal to it either. Their site is also quite confusing and doesn't market their product well imo.

Anyone else feel this way or am I the only weird one?

Here is an important question that will help you out...

What exactly do you want to "outdo" these two industry leading phone in? If you can define that, then you have a direction and a clearer idea what is lacking in your opinion. If you cannot really define that, how is anyone to come up with a solution that is judged to be "better" if they don't even know which metric the result is being judged on? Food for thought

Good question Race Minded. Personally I'm looking for something that's different and not a part of the iphone vs. galaxy feud but would like to upgrade to something that also contends with both phones in as many ways possible. Only thing I can think of is to wait and see what the HTC windows phone has in store.

I'm changing phone in a couple of months. I currently got the Iphone 4. Have had Iphone since it came out. But the Iphone 5 was a a disappointment. I was looking at the Samsung s3. But its a couple of months old now. But then I got my eyes on 2 phones.
Xiaomi Phone 2 and Nokia Lumia 920.

I like the design of the Nokia best. But the Xiaomi got the most powerful cpu/hardware out there. I'm waiting for reviews before I decide.

I want a windows phone but verizon doesn't offer much.

I have a Droid X and in a few weeks the Droid Razr Maxx Hd is coming out and I am going to get one of them. Looks cool and has the features I want.

Not buying a phone because of how popular it is makes you just as much of a sheep. Buy whichever phone has the features you're looking for.

I am a pretty big fan of my GS3. I have had them all. Iphone 4, 4s, 3gs, 3g, Samsung Infuse, GS2, HTC Vivid and the GS3 is by far my favorite. I just like the android capability better. I send, receive, edit and read contracts all day long. The Android lets me do this, the Iphone never did. I don't think I will ever go back to an Apple phone even if they do come out with the capability I need.

I just switched to Sprint, the data in my apartment was 5x faster then ATT and it was $80 per month cheaper. I have unlimited everything now.
