MONTLY 'AMISH COUNTRY MEET' LANCASTER, PA
We are pleased to inform everyone that the Amish Country Meet will now be held the last Sunday of each month this year!
Due to our success in recent months with this meet, it will now be hosted once a month, and will unite a community for good times and great food. Known for their bottomless servings, we will alternate between either the Plain & Fancy Farm or the Shady Maple Smorgasbord as the location for which to meet. As far as the meet itself, we will only be at one location specifically, meaning one month will be strictly at Plain & Fancy, while the next month will be at Shady Maple, as to add variety to this meet. Additionally, we will offer a cruise after ever meet, as we have in the past, and will sample other local offerings. These include The Pennsylvania Railroad Museum, Hershey's Chocolate World, etc.

to be continued and updated for the second half of the year...
Time: 1:00 PM
Locations:
The Plain & Fancy Farm
Bird-In-Hand, PA
(or)
Shady Maple Smorgasbord
East Earl, PA
Cost: No charge for the event (food is optional and is the only implied cost)
Restrictions: Just a bunch of car enthusiasts enjoying a great home-style meal. With that said, no restrictions on make/model, if you have a car and are looking for a good time, come out an join us!
Accommodations: The Plain & Fancy, has generously offered that the parking lot be roped off for us. and they are more than willing to accomidate as many people as we can get. We are in the process of acquiring the same for Shady Maple, yet given the higher volume of traffic flow, is not finalized. However we are sure there will be parking accordingly, and will post updates as needed.
Cruises:
BEFORE-
We've planned for lunch since it will allow people to cruise up after any Sunday mornin' cars and coffee events from all areas. ex: cruise up from Vienna, VA is just under 2 hours and 45 minutes, which means if the group leaves cars and coffee at 10 and get gas, they can easily arrive by 1 as long as traffic cooperates). There will be a group from Katie's Cars and Coffee in VA, Tyson's Corner in MD, and others joining in from the Baltimore/York areas to head up. Another group will also be heading out form Linglestown, PA. Feel free to link up with any group, at any point, at your convenience. For those of you from the Eastern part of the state, or even the Coast, there will be people cruising from your areas as well that you ma link up with and form a caravan to the restaurant.
AFTER-
As mentioned we will be cruising to a location as a group following lunch, and all are welcome to join. More details to come as each month will feature a new location and cruise route, so stay tuned.
REGISTRATION: WE DO NOT REQUIRE REGISTRANTS TO COMMIT BUT TO BEST ACCOMMODATE EVERYONE, PLEASE ADD YOUR NAME TO THE LIST IF YOU ARE A DEFINITE, AND IF YOU ARE INTERESTED, BUT ARENT POSITIVE, ADD YOUR NAME AND MENTION THAT... IT WILL HELP US GREATLY WITH PLANNING AND MAKING THIS AS SUCCESSFUL AS POSSIBLE (so that the restaurants can seat all of us, we provide this count as an update to our reservation)
like last time***EVERYONE IS WELCOME... the more the better!***

This months meet is of course extremely weather permissive, yet if conditions are poor we will simply have the meet for food and a good atmosphere (indoors only). Stay tuned, but if the weather stays as warm as its been to start the month, we hope it will end the same, and therefore allow for us to shake the winter weather and get out for a drive on the 26th of the month. Thanks!

Sorry everyone for the delay... had to get right back to classwork the night after the meet. (ugh) Anyways, a ton of updates to report!
First off: Thanks to all who came out on Sunday, we had another great meet and good times all around, the weather held out wonderfully. Thanks to those who were back again and to the new comers who made it out as well, it was a pleasure seeing/meeting everyone. A very diverse group of cars with everything from GTRs to Cobras to Aston Martin and a Ferrari 599 GTO that was a treat to say the least! Please if you havent already, share any and all pics, I am working on the video at the moment and that will be up shortly, but did not get too many photos between filming (I will most certainly post what I do have).
Secondly: I mentioned to some folks about hopefully getting us all a discount off of food now that this is a monthly meet. That said, I would first like to thank the Plain & Fancy for being so accommodating, they again roped off parking for all of us and took it one step further by offering all of our guest (in the email attached below) a deal they dont usually offer to anyone but locals::
I hope that your group enjoyed the day at Plain & Fancy this past Sunday and that everything went smoothly for you all. I spoke with Darah (our Manager at Plain & Fancy) and Al Duncan (our CEO, whom you had met) about offering a discount to your group should you bring them consistently to our property for lunch. I think you had mentioned possibly once a month, correct? We would love to extend our “Local Loyalty” discount of 20% to each person joining your group. Our Local Loyalty Program is typically offered to locals of the Lancaster area, and though I’m sure not everyone in your group is from Lancaster, we would like to offer anyone that takes part in your group meal this discount. We would actually provide each person with a Local Loyalty card; the cards are reusable at both of our properties (Miller’s and Plain & Fancy), so each time you visit you’ll be given that discount.
Given each person who joins up with our monthly meet now gets a 20 percent discount, the cost for lunch is reduced from around $19.95 a person to $15.96 (before tax and tip), leaving us with an all inclusive, bottomless and homestyle meal for just under 20 dollars a person (includes tax and a tip). Not a bad deal if you ask me. Again thank you to the Plain & Fancy Farm for offering us this great deal.
Third: This is very important as it pertains to all of the meets upcoming and most recently this month's meetup in Lancaster... Please read and I will also update Post #1 of this thread to match. After an attempt to alternate between the Plain & Fancy Farm and Shady Maple with scheduling, it is clear that the Shady Maple location will be too difficult to organize sufficient parking, given the nature of the meetup. Given the meetup must be on a Saturday, their busiest day of the week, the parking is always an issue and would therefore not be conducive of a large scale get together of cars. I would like to first apologize for an inconvenience this may have caused and it is my hope that we may still be able to arrange to make it out to Shady Maple atleast once this year. All else aside, the Plain & Fancy will be able to accommodate all of accordingly and we will be therefore having each months meet at this location. We have had great success with all three of the meets thus far and it only makes sense to keep doing what works best for everyone, both as a group and for the venue. Here is the updated schedule with the location now staying the same for the next few months, and the dates to be back to the origional plan of having the meet every last Sunday of the month. Any questions or concerns please ask, I think this will work best for planning, as Sundays are the less busy of the two weekend days (especially as we get into summer and events start up).
Lastly: We have had fun runs following the meetup in the past and they were both pleasant and spirited. As a result I ask that everyone please post ideas for any and all months for locations/shows/other meets/etc. that would be worth taking a drive after lunch with anyone who is interest (everyone is welcome to join!) I will go ahead and plan that this months meet take a spirited backroads cruise up to Hershey, PA and visit Chocolate World and the see the park. For those who havent been before Hershey's Chocolate World has literally the freshest candy you can get anywhere that is Hershey's brand. If anyone is interested we can also take a drive around the Hotel Hershey (I work there so I can personally say it is beautiful all year round) Again please feel free to suggest any ideas you may have, myself and many others are open to the idea of going to other events following the Amish Country meet and I would be more than willing to arrange our schedule to accommodate these plans in advance!
Thanks for taking a moment to read all of this, sorry for throwing all this info at you guys all at once, it is all of importance and worth sharing. I am again looking forward to this months meet, to be held
MARCH 25th, 2012 @ The Plain & Fancy Farm Restaurant with lunch being served at 1:30pm. Looking forward to seeing some great cars and great people as always!Monthly 'Amish Country Meet'
