Thumbs up AllSports Grand Prix Racing League

So over this weekend I went and checked out AllSports Grand Prix's indoor Go Kart track. This place is awesome! Check out the website: index.

Not bragging but I had the fastest lap of the day hahaha 24.00 flat. These karts are decently quick and there very technical portions of the course.

But getting down to the business of this post. I am hoping to set up a seasonal racing league, meeting either once every other week or once a month. We could meet at the track during the time that would be blocked out just for our league and tear the track up with fellow L4Pers. The scoring would be kept through a points system and the person at the end of the season with the most points is the winner, 2nd most get second and so on. Points would be earned for placing 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th. Points can also be awarded by a judge for style points (ie. drifting cleaning around the entire course). Prizes to be determined at a later date, but if we can get some sponsors the prizes can be legit.

I think that this could be a ton of fun and it is fairly close to me and hopefully others, being in Dulles, VA. The prices are reasonable. It is a $50 membership fee but you get your first race free and a race on your bday for free so it pays for its self. After that you get races for $12. There might be slight dues for the "club" or "team" but I think that it will be decently cheap and I am sure they would work with us more for pricing with the greater number of people who participate.

This is a long rambling post, but I just wanted to drum up some interest and get some thoughts on this.

Would anyone on the site be interested in something like this? I want to have a semi solid idea of turnout so i can start organizing for the first season and start to negotiate fees with the track. Respond to the thread as well as PM me for more info.

    LET'S GET THIS GOING!

I used to be a member...its quite expensive for what you get. I usually go to SPK (Summit Point Karting) which is obviously a bit further but the karts are faster and its outdoors with negotiable rates for groups. The drive down there is fantastic too...you should gauge interest on that as well...

Yeah I definitely want to check that out as well. I went this weekend ant talked to the guys at AllSport GP and they said they would be negotiable with fees if there is a steady group of people regularly coming.

Would you be interested if it was SPK?
