Need some New York help!
Just about ready to finalize my honeymoon plans for July and need a little advice.
We are going to be flying into Laguardia the day after our wedding and heading to our final destination from there. Our flight the next day leaves from JFK.
We are going to get into town at around 5 pm on Sunday and are looking for a nice place to stay and eat but don't have any idea about the area. Is there anything down around JFK or in between the 2 airports to stay? I would rather head down towards JFK when we get there so we can sleep later on Monday morning.
Anyone have any guidance?Scotchy, Scotch, Scotch...I love Scotch

Just stay in Manhattan and then take the train to JFK? It's only like a 30-40 minute train ride if I remember correctly.

I would probably just take a cab, won't that be easier?

Take a cab from the airport, it will cost between $35 and $50 for the ride. Are you looking to have quiet time with the wife or to explore the city? Depending on your objective I can help you pick a hotel and a couple restaurants and shows.
You have my info call or email me anytime.

just take a cab into the city and out.
as for restaurants, if you want high-end, there are only a few quality choices anymore:
- Masa ($450/person) - best sushi in the country
- Le Bernardin (need a suit) - good to very good seafood, minimal french in style
- Per Se (need a suit) - probably the best high-end meal in NYC right now, besides Masa
- Kuruma Zushi ($300/person) - excellent sashimi, decent sushi, casual, sit at the bar and let him serve you
if you want high quality but comfort & reasonable prices:
- L’Atelier de Joel Robuchon - high-end eating when you just feel like wearing jeans
- Sushi Yasuda - very good sushi at a reasonable price ($150/person)
- 11 Madison Park - the chef could be top tier if he wanted to be
- Corton - hearing lots of good things about this place, chef is on the more experimental side
since it's your honeymoon, i would recommend: a) Masa if you like sushi or b) Robuchon if you want to take it easy but still have very good food in a grand setting
