2012 Nissan GT-R to get hardcore Track Pack
You would think Nissan would take a break from meddling with its GT-R after enhancements to the 2012 Nissan GT-R resulted in more power and even faster acceleration times (which prompted duPont Publishing’s editors to award the GT-R its Best Bang for your Buck award in the 2012 duPont REGISTRY Exotic Car Buyers Guide).
Now we see multiple reports that the Nissan GT-R will be available with a Track Pack for 2012. The SpecV-like Track Pack will include racing seats with high-friction fabric; uprated brakes, exhaust, and suspension and dampers; different wheels; increased cooling and aerodynamics; and no rear chairs. Expect the full announcement on the 2012 Track Pack in the upcoming weeks.
We reached out to Nissan, which would neither confirm nor deny these reports.

I wonder if they'll ever make a GT-R with a manual gearbox.

Even though one would hope so, I doubt it. I don't think they would sell enough units to justify the costs. Plus I'm sure they would have to re engineer much of the car to get it working properly.
People always say they want a manual, but there are few that would actually buy one.

the problem would be the fact that the GTR would be hopeless with a manual. the TWO THINGS that makes it a rocket in acceleration is its' DCT and launch control. manual trans would mean ditching both of those and the car would not hold out against its' competitors like it currently does. many tuners would buy it with stick but not these business guys who want to tell their friends nothing but statistics about their computer on wheels. Most Skyline GTR fans hate this car to begin with and would actually approve of a manual going in.
