Behind the Wheel: 2011 Mercedes-Benz S400 Hybrid
A mere $2,000 less but a whopping 100 hp shy compared to the “base” V-8 offering, the S400 doesn’t win a decisive victory over its stablemate, the Mercedes S550. Sure, it uses less fuel and emits less CO2, but a car of this class shouldn’t offer concessions. But that is just what you get with the S400 Hybrid, concessions. i'd take the S400H any day over that latest excuse of eco-madness: the S250CDi... A 200BHP 2.2L 4cyl diesel... now THAT is unworthy of an S-class
