Spyker Hits General Motors With Lawsuit

Spyker, the Dutch supercar maker and owner of Saab, is suing General Motors for $3 billion on behalf of Saab Automobile. They are accusing GM of interfering with a potential deal with a Chinese investor that could have saved Saab.
Saab stopped production in May 2011 when they could no longer pay their suppliers and employees. They then declared bankruptcy later in the year in December. If Saab would have reached a deal with the Chinese investor, Spyker says that Saab would have been able to restructure and remain in business.
Spyker says the $3 billion amount is based on what Saab would have been worth if the deal with the Chinese investor would have gone through.

Saab went bankrupt because nobody bought their cars. The advertising campaign said that saab is made from jets. What the f does that matter when the cars are slow as hell.

After GM sold Saab they made major anti-competitive moves, though. I believe they owned rights on a lot of the parts the "current" Saab lineup is made up of, so when it came to selling to the Chinese, GM blocked it on the grounds that it doesn't want its schematics in Chinese hands.
They also stopped the production of the 9-7X SUV, which was supposed to redeem the brand.
GM did do a lot of damage to Saab's efforts, is my point. It'll be interesting to see where this goes. IMO with the damage they did they should at lease refund Spyker for the purchase.2009 CLS550
