Not only does carbon fiber look amazing on cars, it is also a great for building automotive components. There is one component that has yet to be perfectly made with carbon, until now.
Carbon Revolution has successfully created the world's first one piece carbon fiber wheel. The CR-9 is created entirely from carbon fiber composite, and is an automotive breakthrough. These wheels are around 50% lighter than premium OEM equivalents made from Alimunum, yet they exceed OEM standards in labs and on tracks around the world. They offer greater acceleration, braking, ride and handling and steering responsiveness. Because of the light weight of these wheels, they offer a huge fuel efficiency gain. The CR-9's are constructed from continuous fiber, allowing greater strength and stiffness.
Expect to hear more about these amazing wheels throughout 2012 until they are officially launched.

For sure a cool product which I am sure many pros vs cons to it....but one big one (atleast for me) is the fact that they look awfully tacky. I may eat my words upon seeing them on an application in person but every instances ive seen of cars with carbon fiber lips or overlays on the wheels just look, for lack of a better word, cheap.

Definitely not one of the most attractive designs.....and for a wheel that's probably gonna cost 15K a set.....I dunno.
