BMW to create M7?

It has always struck me as odd that BMW doesn’t produce an M version of their 7 series. An M7 would be an absolute beast of a car considering how powerful they are stock.
Well according to TheDetroitBureau.com the CEO of BMW North America, Ludwig Willisch, is very optimistic about an M7. BMW has always said they would not create an M7, TheDetroitBureau.com says ”sentiment appears to be changing, especially with Willisch’s counterpart in China also lending his support.”
“I think we will get it,” says Willisch. This is promising, but we have no timeframe of when BMW will create this car.
It may be a while before we see an M7 in the works, but it will be an even longer time before we see one in the States.

I always believed the Alpina B7 (500 hp/516 lb-ft) was the pseudo M7

+1 the B7 is BMW's M of the 7 series. The B7 is a great car, but you have to wonder why they haven't made an M7 in house, maybe no demand?

Unless they are going to give it a V12 and put it against the S65 (Which would make my pants region very happy), I don't see it happening and if it did it wouldn't be smart because they would me competing with themselves (Alpina B7). I can see BMW competing against themselves though, they did it with the 335is and the M3 because they are so close in price
