    Default aowheels Volvo C70

Recently finished this Volvo C70 detail

2 rounds in the compounding stage
3 step polish & 2 coats of Menzerna Powerlock

The car was dropped off with my wife while I was out of town doing other vehicles. The customer was also leaving to go out of town and was a perfect time for him to leave the car with me. We discussed doing this months ago as it is his only source of transportation. So I was glad the time had come!

Before returning home, I had devised a plan of attach in my head...
Here is the car as I found it.

Got started on the wheels first as I always do!

Then proceeded with a basic wash (Bucket, Sonax Active Shampoo "as selected" and wash mitt)
IronX, was in my plan of attach. So before drying the vehicle I rolled it back into the garage and sprayed it down. Its difficult to make out the product doing its work on a black car so I took some pics of the garage floor and the run off it produced.

I let the IronX stand on the vehicle for about 10 min then rolled it back out to foam it down with CG citrus wash... and rinsed.

Drying and blowing out the nooks and crannies.

As I was drying the vehicle down I noticed some of the spots I knew were there and was hoping the IronX would dissolve. This car came from Michigan many months ago and has never had a proper detail. I'm thinking much of the spots where caused from road salt?
Here are some picks of the car under the light and some of the contamination spots mostly along the lower section of the car.

My plan of attach is now out the window... I was hoping to not have to clay so much.
I started claying with a mild abrasive clay bar and was getting nowhere. So I quickly went with a more aggressive clay and started to see results. This crud was really well bonded to the paint. "Not good" The aggressive claying has now marred the paint up pretty well and caused my wash & clay time to stretch to a little over 6 hours... (Unexpected!)
