Default Alpine White BMW Paint Correction by DJ Mayo @ Reflections Detailing

On Monday March 1st, I made the trip out to Rob's house to fix the exterior of his BMW. We have been in contact the last few months but with the 5 feet of snow the area has gotten since December it has been tough. Well the day finally came where the weather was clear and both schedules permitted. My friend Dan came along to help which was much appreciated. The paint was in overall great shape just needed a thorough polish with some extra attention to the horizontal surfaces. Thank you Rob for having me out, it was great to meet you.

Rob had already washed the car and did the wheels before we got out there so we immediately started on the paint. After giving the car a 91% IPA wipe down, we were ready. The horizontal panels were treated with Menzerna SIP via Lake Country Cyan Hydro Tech Pad using the Makita, then followed up by Menzerna 85rd via Black Lake Country Pad using the Makita. The vertical panels and bumpers were treated using Menzerna Power Finish via Lake Country Cyan Hydro Tech Pad using the PCXP. After the leveling phase was completed and final polishing was done, I went over the entire car using CG EZ Creme Glaze using a 5.5 inch 3M black pad on speed 6. This would further clean the paint and prep for the protection. After speaking with Rob and telling him about Blackfire, we went with it. The slickness it provides is one of a kind. I grabbed a red LC pad and applied using the PC again on speed 4. The wheels were treated with Opti-Seal for protection as well as the headlights and tail lights. The tires received Meg's Gel using a DI Applicator.

I did not take many pictures of defects as they were your normal light washing and drying scratches and swirls.

I am sure Rob will chime in soon..

    Thanks

Friend Dan using Power Finish on all the vertical panels and bumpers

After I corrected the surface, I went for some serious gloss with 85rd.

Nothing was done to the interior but I did a once over on the door jambs using Optimum Instant Detailer and Optimum Car Wax

After roughly 7 man hours we pulled the car outside to snap a few more pictures before leaving.
