Ferrari F-40 correction cont.....
Here are the pics from the completion of the job, I had very little time to finish the car so not as many pics of this iconic supercar as I would have liked including sun pics.
Marring was not terrible, but enough that compounding was a must. As the paint on these early nineties Ferrari's is very thin over the carbon kevlar body great care was needed and I could not jump in with a twisted wool pad like the recent Beck Speedster job.

After a few hits of compounding

There was quite a bit of polishing, however the biggest challenge is the Lexan rear engine cover.

50/50 pic after about four hours of polishing inside and out(with much more after this pic).

Starting to make headway, going after the stubborn deep scratches.

A few of the deep RIDS were not going anywhere, but the clarity was restored(after 20 years of build up/1990 model year car).

Wiping off LSP.

As I had no opportunity to wash properly, I cleaned the wheels in place with AG wheel cleaner and water from my low pressure washer.

Wheel and tire after cleaning before dressing.

Wing after all polishing steps and LSP.

My mostest favoritest car and color of all time... damn good thing it's a targa!
The F40 looks fantastic! You said you were pressed for time; how long did you have? That happens with me a lot too with F cars and others, either because the customer can't wait to go play with it again or the shop needs the space once they're finished with the repairs. I do the best with what I've got and it seems like that's an understatement in your case

Jesse I had to finish as the shop I was working at needed to button up some things as the last of the parts arrived for the maintenance, also I had another job starting and since it was a mobile job I had to finish.
Had this been at my shop I would have done even more because I could switch back in forth on the two cars at the same time.
