    Default Making your own alcohol

Ok, this thread disappeared, I dunno if it was due to the crash or because of inappropriate content. Mods if you feel it is inappropriate let me know but I didn't initially see anything wrong with it

Anyone here made their own booze besides beer? I know quite a few people who like to brew their own beer. Anyone make their own like Whiskey or vodka?

Beer, Wine & Mead, but no spirits. Operating a still is illegal around here...

Although one of my old roomates used to get some killer moonshine from his grandad!

Friend sent me this video a few days ago. I've brewed my own beer, might try this with apple cider:

I've made a different version of Kvass with Apple Cider... turns out really good, and depending on how long you let it ferment, about 5% alcohol.

Ah, that reminds me of another one: purchase 40 gallon keg of cider from local pressing plant. Let sit in the autumn sun. Let freeze during the winter. Insert tap, drain off "Apple Jack". No idea how strong it was, but it packed a real good punch...

It helps to have access to a lab grade condensers and vent hoods. But the main issue is that you don't use an open flame for the heat source, use what's known as a heating mantle: Heating Mantles
