Bourbon steak is good, it replaced Michael Mina ages ago. If you like modern upscale try Rn74 which is directly below my building. They are both still Mina-owned restaurants, and Rn74 has a nice lounge/bar area with a decent flow of eye candy.

There are tons of good food in SF, it all depends on the cuisine you're after. Narrow it down and I'll give you my top hits.

If you're going to go to Ad-hoc make sure you go when they have their fried chicken and bone marrow, they only serve the fried chicken every other Monday and sometimes on Sunday brunch.

R&G is great...deep fried crab, geo duck are my faves there. If you want super good and cheap chinese food try Yuet li (corner of sacramento and broadway).

Try Roy's...it's an upscale, but not snobby Hawaiian fusion restaurant. I had it for the first time last week and the food and service was amazing...you won't be disappointed!
