Last time I had a layover in San Fran grabbed a cab and took it to the nearest in and out, spent $20 there and $20 on the cab, definitely was worth it.

I can't speak to White Castle, but 5 guys, at least the two i've been to, were a huge disappointment.

I like Five Guys, but haven't been there in a while
The line shows everyone who doesn't value their time. Sorry, but a $5 burger is not as important as 3 hours of my life. I can't get the burger some other time, I can't get those 3 hours back.

im on board with in-n-out being way overrated. i have one next to my work, one next to my house and one 10 minutes away from that, and still ill only go once every few months, and thats only because my fiancee likes it.
if any of you are in the sacramento area, look up Squeeze Inn. theres only 3, and they are spread pretty far out, but one of the best burgers around.

Definitely a Squeeze Inn lover....
Was having dinner at Ella with my wife a few weeks ago and the fella sitting next to us at the bar was an exec at In and Out. We got to talking about TX (I grew up there) and he said the stores there not only broke all records for an opening day but continue to on a daily basis. Some they even stage back-up supply refer trailers since they cannot keep up with the supply logistics w/out them!
