Have you ever seen anyone put a decent scotch in a refrigerator? Anyone putting ice in a scotch is doing so for the melting of the ice (i.e. the water diluting the spirit).

These are an interesting party conversation piece, but scotch is the wrong target market for these.

a little bit of chilling & minimal dilution helps increase flavors imo.

different beasts but here's an inventive way we enjoyed some Pappy van Winkle a month ago

I got a set for my birthday last month. Really enjoy them. They cool the scotch and do not chill. I prefer my scotch neat with 2-3 drops of water to release the citrus notes. An ice cube in my opinion adds too much water for my taste as well as chilling.

    I have these:
Amazon.com: Sea Stones On The Rocks, Granite Chillers with 2 Free 10-Ounce Tumblers: Kitchen & Dining

And others can be found at Sur la Table:
Whisky Stones, Set of Nine at Sur La Table

    Or at Bevmo:
    http://www.bevmo.com/Shop/ProductDet...roductID=34403

The instruction I received at a The Macallan tasting event was that scotch can be enjoyed neat, on the rocks, with drops of water or mixed with water and all provide a different experience. The method chosen is up to the drinker and what they enjoy most. There is no one correct way to enjoy scotch.

    Enjoy in good health.

Just drink it out of the bottle, no stones, no ice, no glass.

OK I'm off to AA, be back later
