Kobe steak restaurant in San Jose CA Bay Area ?
Does anyone who a good restaurant has real kobe in the area? or place i can get kobe. (not Shabuway !). Much appreciate. Kevin

alexander's steakhouse. Due to the mad cow disease scare in Japan there are very few real japanese beef being imported in the US right now.
Alexander's has a few A5 rated Japanese beef and a A5 Australian Wagyu also.
Places like Shabuway serve Kobe style beef which is from the US so not real Kobe. If you go to Japan though you will find out there are many great beefs in Japan that are just as good or even better than Kobe. It's more of a brand name actually.Last edited by tsubasa650; 03-09-2011 at 07:01 AM.

tsuba, i was under the impression no japanese beef is entering the states right now, even at Alexander's. i could be wrong - but i'm pretty sure the SF location said that when i was there a month ago.
