    Default Anybody have a brickoven?

As the title suggests, I am curious if any L4Pers have a nice set-up at their place; more specifically in their yard. My parents have an unsightly shed on their property that as seen better days as a hoe-haven (hahaha sorry) and I am trying to convince them to put in a wood-fired brickoven and grill in its stead.

I've been wasting time lately browsing this place:

Fogazzo Wood Fired Ovens and Barbecues

The thought of legit, homemade pizza stimulates the idea mightily.

We just got the Beehive from Al Fresco Imports (also available through Williams Sonoma or FrontGate, I forget which). True 800-900 degree wood-fired oven. If you build your own, there's a lot involved to have it turn out correctly, with the high heat focused on the cooking surface. I also found a source for cut and split hardwoods like hickory, apple, etc.

Now we are building an outdoor kitchen area for the oven, our grill, a sink and countertop, etc.

Sounds awesome, is it installed yet? If so, have you made any pizzas? Pics? Sounds very nice!

    Mex,

Do you have it as a stand-alone or are you building it into a counter/bar?

My neighbors had one built with their house and they love it. They cook a lot more than pizza in theirs- I think that they did lamb shanks last week.

Very cool, I can't imagine that any pizza place could deliver a pie that matched a homemade wood-fired one.
