It is right on Main St on the peninsula. (And I think San Shi Go is Japanese for the street numbers of the address.)
They usually have some live sweet shrimp that beats the other local spots. And, they do Aji sashimi the right way... the whole fish

Another great spot is right behind the Blue Water grille... you have to walk along the dock to get to the front door. Good grub... but more importantly, very romantic. If you can't seal the deal here, then it aint gonna happen.

Both of these spots are reasonably priced.

Shogun is my go-to place here in Pasadena. Most of the places around here are pretty mediocre.

Sushi Sam's in San Mateo offers a lot of interesting, off the beaten path sushi. Sit at the bar, and order off the specials board on the wall behind the itamae. If you do order the specials, DO NOT bother with soy sauce and/or wasabi. The specials are seasoned for you. I recommend:

White king salmon - seasoned with sesame oil and green onions
Toro - flash seared with lime juice and seasoned salt
Baby lobster tail - with aioli, tobiko and sliced almonds
    Arctic char
    Fresh sardines
    Butterfish
When I'm not here, I'm slinging IT infrastructure or gone golfing
