Thread: Oktoberfest Beers (what do you like? dislike?)

Like:
- Brooklyn Octoberfest
- Hoffbrau Oktoberfest
- Ayinger Oktober Fest Marzen
-Dogfish Head Oktoberfest

Meh:
- Sam Adams Oktoberfest


Dislike:
- Magic Hat Oktoberfest (huge skip imo)
- Smuttynose pumpkin ale (ok its not oktoberfest but its a fall brew I had to lump in here...)

Sam Adams is the standard.

The only beer I really like is Blue Moon, but I want to expand my horizons. Any of these fall beers that are similar that I might like?

I am SO looking forward to the Oktoberfest held right down the street from our house

I really want to try some of the pumpkin ales, but I think I'll need to go to World Market and build my own 6 pack. Yay Fall!

Some of them have a lot more pumpkin taste than others. I have a 12'er of Harvest Moon Pumpkin Ale from Blue Moon and it tastes nothing like pumpkin. More like a lightly spiced Oktoberfest...on the other hand, I've had some in the past (can't remember the name, but the 6pack has a pumpkin vine on a black background, can't miss it) and it REALLY tasted pumpkin-y.

I should add a fair warning- I have odd taste-buds and I definitely have wide-ranging tastes for beer. I only know a couple other people that I can consistently agree with on beer opinions
