Thread: Anyone eaten Kobe Beef ?

I've had kobe beef when I was in vegas, not to bad.. Very expensive obviously. It was seared and cut into paper thin slices served with small musrooms and ponzu jelly.. really good.

Real kobe isnt best enjoyed as a steak. The high heat they use at steak houses carmelizes the marbling too much. I too would rather have a dry aged rib eye at a steak house. Kobe beef is usually best served and enjoyed at high end teppanyaki or shabu shabu restaurants where they are cooked perfectly at a controlled temp. Kobe beef sashimi is also quite a popular dish in japan.
