For some good Mexican, nothing fancy, try the Guadalajara Grill. It right off the River Walk in the La Villita...Good food! If you eat there, be sure to look around the shops in La Villita. Some pretty cool stuff, especially the copper shop.

Try Biga on the banks, very upscale and nice view. For the night life hit up Vbar located in the hotel Valencia.

Beautiful place---was just there in March for the Texas Mile. I didn't get a chance to eat but every place looks amazing.

    Where are you from?

If you are from NYC like me, or another gastronomical paradise, you will be really really really disappointed by the Riverwalk.

Best bet is to go to Rudy's for BBQ, no where near the Riverwalk (the originals Rudy's BTW) - My Zagats rating:

F-28 Pigs willingly die to be served here
    D-5 Ugghh
S-8 They're kinda Texas friendly, but you still have to box your own leftovers

This is really of no help. To be honest I am interested in hearing what people have to say. Been here three months, ate at places on the Riverwalk people "highly recommended" and they were not very good.

hit southtown they have some good places to eat and it is not that far from the downtown riverwalk area. I agree the riverwalk is ok for a short while, but there are better places in sa to go to.
