Default Moving to London. How Screwed am I Food Wise?

Title pretty much says it all. I'm about to move from NJ/NY over to London for work and have heard some horror stories food wise. I don't eat fish and chips and you can only eat so much pub food.

I've heard that the Indian food is great but I'm only so so on that. What else do they have?

I'll be honest I do not have an overly open palate. Easiest way to explain is that I am a meat and potatoes guy and also love Italian food. No seafood, not too many veggies, and nothing crazy spicy.

I've also been told that the quality of red meat is just simply lower than in the US. Any truth there?

Oh please... London isnt like that anymore (well it is if you eat in the wrong places)
what you need to do first is get yourself a copy of the latest "Time Out" London guide
London Restaurant Guide, Restaurant Reviews and Restaurant Offers for Eating Out in London - Time Out London

Honestly London is one of the top cities for foodies now..

all depends on what sorts of food your into and what area of London your moving to.

Marylebone High Street area is slowly becoming "THE" area for Restaurants. Got great Sushi, French, Italian, British and Indian.

You will be a bit stuck for steaks as there arent many steak places that are actually good.

If you have any questions then please get in touch. Im not the biggest foodie in the world but i have been fortunate to eat in some very nice restaurants in London.

Food is not much different in the UK.. the biggest differences you will find in quality is Dairy products,Wheat products-Bread/Cakes,Chocolate "They actually have flavour over here and don't taste like plastic". Apart from that you will not feel like you are in a different world. London has everything from every part of the world and most of the UK is the same. Whatever you want its here.
As your moving here and not just visiting i take it you will be cooking from home most of the time anyway!?! there are some fantastic fresh food markets all over london so you are never far from anything.

I'm moving to Las Vegas from the East Coast of the UK and have been in and out of the US for 19 years so i know the difference in the 2 cultures!
Cost is going to get some getting used too!! EVERYTHING is exspensive compared to what you have been used too!!
Good luck with your move... you will settle in ok over here. just make sure you earn lots of money!!

Oh and wait till you see the prices of Gas!!!
