I just discovered Paneer by accident.
So whenever I'm at Trader Joes, I always am on the lookout for new stuff, especially frozen meal type dishes. So I see a Paneer Tika Masala with spinach Basmati rice. Pic looks good, I've had Masala before, sounds good, so I get one. Took it to work today to have for lunch, pop it in the micro, smells pretty good, but I'm looking at the chunks of chicken & they look too perfect & uniform, so then I bite into one, & I say to myself, this doesn't taste like chicken
. It seemed like it was tofu, which I like, & it tasted good. When I first looked at the box, I just assumed it was chicken, but I was wrong
.
No problem, the more I ate it, the more curious I got, so I decided to look at the ingredients on the box, & I'm not finding tofu listed, now I'm confused
. It should be near the top, but I don't see it, then I see Paneer listed & I'm like wtf, I've never heard of Paneer, so I googled it & now I know all about this cool old school cheese
.

Yeah Paneer is the shiznit. I'm indian and I love the stuff, especially Paneer Tika Masala or Palak (Spinach) Paneer. To be honest whenever we go out to eat, I actually rank it higher than meat as far as things that I have to get.
I don't know which is better getting paid or getting laid, all I know is while I'm doing one the others getting away.

Yes, fresh paneer is heavenly. I'll take palak paneer any day of the week

For me, an Indian meal isn't complete without Saag Paneer or Palak Paneer. I also could snack on Samosas all day.

we eat a different kind of paneer (bengali kind) that we fry and eat with potato curry and puffy bread for breakfast. I am not a big fan of it..but my wife loves it(who is white)....seems to one of those dishes that a lot of westerners really enjoy..as its not too spicy yet has the desi "stick to your ribs" goodness
