Default MissiG cooked me dinner! The farmers market mystery box...

OK, I am a lucky dude - this is her passion...

So MissiG signs up of the local farmers market seasonal mystery box... essentially you committ to buying a box of produce, not knowing what is in it... every 2 weeks you can pick up the box at a different restaurant in SF. The box cost $25 and LOADED w/ a week's worth of fruit and veggies (for about same cost as a puny bag of fruit/veggies from Whole Foods).

The recipe was one of improv, w/ things borrowed from a few different recipes... bulk of the ingredients came from the mystery box.

Starter: purslane and baby romaine lettuce salad w/ egg and a lemon and olive oil dressing.

Main course: walnut crusted chicken w/ a blackberry mint sauce over sautéed erbette chard

Side: pan-roasted baby red potatoes w/ gremolata

Sweet ending: warm blackberry peach crisp w/ side of Stoneyfield Famrs frozen vanilla yogurt.

Pics...

And a link to the wine we had w/ this meal...

R. Stuart & Co. - 2005 Daffodil Hill Pinot Noir

forget starting a restaurant, just charge $500 a head to eat at your place!

PS: I'm serious...
