And that's another question. I can understand if you can't answer, but have you ever encountered any dead beat 'celebrities'?

    It's easy when it's someone else's money.

I see $400-$600 tips on a regular basis though. Usually "ballas" trying to impress some clubrats they just picked up in their rented Maybachs/Phantoms.

P.S. I know they are rented because I talk to the drivers. In my business, if someone rolls up in a Maybach/Phantom, it's in your best interest (restaurant's interest that is) to know who they are. 99% of the time, they are nobodys.

As for celebrities, I see lots of them. I never really had a problem with them. I usually have a problem with their people. Their managers, agents, whatever. They always come over and hound me about something. I get probably about 10-20 celebs a week (some of them are regulars). I don't know if I should name names, but all of them are A list.

I don't think there's any need to 'name names', but I can understand how the Entourages can be a pain. I'm sure they're all doing their best to 'make things happen', and just end up getting in the way...

Cool blog, good read. I used to be a huge Bourdain fan but No Reservations has become a little too narrative for me.

Here's my question for you, where do you go to eat in NYC (excluding your restaurants)?

I actually don't like to eat in my own restaurants...I'm bored of the food.

Personally, I usually go to a few spots that I consider "home" and I try anything new that just opened up. There are lots of restaurants that have a dish or two that I love, so if I crave something particular, that's where I'll be. Most of the time, I like simple, comfort foods rather than Masa or Le Bernadin type cuisine. Let me think of a list and I'll stick one up here.

When I come out to NYC, will you take me on a tour of your restaurants and your fave restaurants?

Not a problem. I'm always just a PM away. I'd show you NY food like I think people should see it. Anyone can take you out to all the 5 star places, but it's the holes in the wall that IMHO are where you want to eat.

I also read Chuck's blog religiously. The man obviously knows his food and fine dining, but I get tired of that food pretty quickly. I can only eat stuff like that about twice a month. I like regular cheaper food a lot more.
