Blender ?

I have been on the search to find a real blender, I am sick of ones that can not make a proper smoothie. I am currently looking at the Vitamix or BlendTec (aka Will It Blend) blender, they look to do the job and was wondering if anyone has one or an opinion on one to get.

the big blendtec unit is wicked I love mine plus the container design makes it so bigger things (fruits etc) dont get stuck above the blades

Get a classic Waring blender... stainless base w/ glass jar, this is the one we have. Off-Med-High w/ an old school radio switch - classic.

built in blender on the island 4TW. I think it's a dacor, not sure. Works great.

my only concern about that one is I currently have a viking stainless blender and it looks great but I am not just sure about the total professional blend quality.

Definitely spend the extra dough and get the blendtec. Check ebay, sometimes they will be selling demo units for cheap. It blends better than any other on the market today. Or costco sells them as well.
