Default Fried shrimp the way us spaniards do it ;)

Very simple dish that makes you look like a super star. This is for 1 person so double it for 2, I made some rice and avocado, but feel free to combine it with bread, potatoes, fries or whatever you'd like

-Get a half a pound of small shrimp, and clean it up (make sure is deveined and with out the tail)
-Cut an entire head of garlic in small pieces
-Clean some italian or curley parsely and cut it up
-Boil the shrimp until its nice and soft (15-20min)
-Once done, drain all the water out of it
-put all the garlic and shrimp on vegetable of oil, on very low fire and fry it until the shrimp is goldish....garlic should mantain a whitish apperance, if you let the garlic get dark it won't taste well.
-Take off the fire drain most of the oil, mix it up with the parsley you cut and add some salt (to your taste if needed) and enjoy!

Here are the pictures of the process

    lovin it

Next time you're out in SF check out my dad's good friends place, Zarzuela on union and hyde. I should probably plan a fun L4P lunch there sometime, however your're better off getting there by cable car since parking is usually impossible.

Is this right? I thought you were supposed to boil them for to 8 min. Guess they harden and then soften?

Either way looks delicious! Love me some garlic.

I like to boil them longer than that, with seafood u can never be too careful the smaller shrimp like I use don't harden before they soften but jumbo shrimp will do that some times.

Sometimes that's all I'll order at a Spanish restaurant if the bread is really good too to mop up the sauce.
