Thread: Burgers tonight, ala waterboy

My buddies requested I make some of my famous "lake-burgers" tonight and it made me wonder what everyone else uses on theirs..

Heres how I make mine. They are probably the worlds most un-healthy food, but damn they are GOOOOOD.

I use whatever spices I have for the meat, its the toppings that make the burger, in my opinion. Usually garlic salt and lemon pepper. I add some (not a LOT) of finely crushed Tabasco Flavored cheezit crackers to fluff up the meat a little and mix it all together, dip the patties in REAL butter right before it hits the grill. The searing effect helps keep the juices in.

Medium-Medium Well, depending on everyones taste. usually medium.

But heres where it gets good And follow me on this one, try it ONCE and youll LOVE it.

Using Sourdough Bread, not cheeseburger buns.

Warm up some Cream cheese and spread it on the top bun.
Add 6 or 7 thinly sliced jalapeno peppers. On top of the burger, I add thick slices of pepperjack mozzarella. Then add a fried egg, done over easy to over medium. On the bottom bun, I go with a french vineagrette mixed with Brown Spicy Mustard that I keep made up. Its my favorite sandwich topping.

Throw in some grilled zucchini and squash, an ice cold beer and Youve got it made!

The cheezits give it a meatloaf-ish type texture.. its heaven! Ive also mixed HOT salsa and creamcheese in the microwave and slathered it on instead of jalapenos.. its good either way but you gotta have something hot on there or the creamcheese doesnt work that great!

def making these this week!

a buddy of mine mixes blue cheese crumbles and diced up jalapenos in his pattys. those r pretty damn good as well.
