Well... Steak #2 was decent...
as per other thread....
Steak #1.... was a little too rare (45 seconds first side, 45 second side, 1 min each side in oven)
Steak #2.... little more medium than i would like, (1 min each side, 2 mins each side oven)
little toast to get the extra juices :-D (excuse the shitty plate.. i dirtied too many with letting it rest and seasoning and cooling..


tomorrow will be steak #3 and ill do 1min each side as the searing tonight was great, but ill use 3 mins total in oven

btw... those guys out there just starting.. yesterdays steak was a little too "charred" because i had not seasoned the cast iron pan... i seasoned it today at 400* for an hour with shortening.. and as you can see eventho i seared it longer its not very charred..
was a good steak tomorrow im going to air for medium rare/rare

no need to flip it in the oven, sounds like you want it 3 minutes in there

Yeah, the smoke definitely sucks. I have a vent built into the range and it still smokes up my spot.
Looks like its a little more done than I like as well but you are getting better. Just think what tomorrow may bring.....

3 mins in oven, still not rare enough... im thinking 2 mins in oven after min each side..

Riley - this might be your new obsession...
Before: Getting pairs of watches of the same kind in diff color.. and buying 3 more the same week
