I watched a case study where they did two taste tests with a group of subjects on their favorite Vodka. The first non-blind test resulted in nearly all of them preferring the expensive more advertised brands. However, approximately 90% of the same group preferred the taste of the cheaper vodka in the blind taste test. The kicker is that when asked if this would change what they order or buy, nearly all of them said they would still go with the expensive vodka (which also ranked very low on the blind tests) because of its status. Crazy the effect of advertising has on us.

Effen is ok. Goose is a staple. Level is my favorite (though I don't really drink anymore).

Goose was the least offensive to me (I never really liked the taste of booze, just the getting drunk part, which is why I've all but quit). I was able to do my drink, which is a double shot, chilled, splash of seven/sprite with a water back. I'd shoot probably 10-15 of those (The night Caleb met me, I think I downed 14 of them while he downed 14 Red Bulls - never drink that much in a hotel bar! lol)

Level, however, made the drink much less painful. I didn't even usually have to make the "OMG That is HORRIBLE" face.

Now, a few exceptions. When Sara @ The Hideaway makes her Pineapple Upside-down Cake shots, she uses Vanilla Grey Goose...OMG, that drink is AWESOME.

I've got a few bottles of a special edition release of Level that was done about two years ago. Shoot me your address and I'll pack up a bottle and send it to you.

VODKA's TASTE = 99% of advertising.
I can tell You situations when people drink cheap Vodka from expensive bottle and told "WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!!!"

NEMIROFF is Ukranian Vodka, yes - former Soviet Republic.
All other I think rumors

I'll need to take a pic of the bottle.
It's something my Father brings home for me from Russia when he visits.
It's the smoothest, tasteless vodka I've ever had. Nothing imported stateside compares to it.
