Thread: Its the End of an Era... :-(

started all 5 years ago... before going off to college a burger joint opened up the road... it was called "What-A-Burger"... was a heavenly burger cooked in trans fat oil, fries as greasy as they come with a plastic resin we know as trans fat... soo good... i ate the burgers from time to time and enjoyed the meat sweats i would get right after...

went off to college and they did not have a whataburger anywhere near by, but a year in one opened that was a short drive but well worth the time... would go there all the time w/ friends since open 24 hours and just east eat eat.. and of course get the meat sweats that would turn into night sweats as you had nightmares of trans fat killing you slowly...

couple years in we started having eating contests, i being the first to ever eat a "octa-whata-burger" the whataburger being a 6" burger instead of the 4" and twice as thick (1/2lb burger or so) i ate an 8 patty, 8 slices of cheese burger.. with fries of course and the store owner promised me after that with this accomplishment i would forever get free cheese (50 cents a slice they charge, ouch) free pies, free drink and free fries every time i visited... being cocky i tried to do a deca sausage biscuit. but i failed on an epic level leaving a pile the size of texas in my wake..

after the years of eating triples and free fries and pies/etc i graduated and returned to my local whata.. becoming sick of the taste i took time away, but tonight i felt the urge again after having a good but not filling sushi dinner..

while strolling in, we noticed a sign "lobby closed 11pm-->6am" and looking at our watches noting just after 11 we said "screw it, have them throw us out!" we noticed an over abundance of people inside and asked why... we found out that come sunday all whataburgers besides i think maybe 1 or two will be closing in florida and they will be no more :-(...

realizing this was an end of the era.. i decided to make this last trip an epic one.. ordering 2 triple meat, triple cheese whataburgers, 2 singl whataburgers (no cheese), an apple pie, and a large cinnomin bun... extra frosting..

after an hour i rose victorious without losing any of the contents during the battle... i have set the bar as high as it will go and it will never be broken in florida again!...

I like in&out a lot..... but since there is no I&O on the east coast . FIVE GUYS is off da chain !!!!!

Ouch...that is some eating.

The good news is Whataburger is going to be in Texas forever. So you can always come here and visit and eat.

i love whataburger, had to drive from Oxford to Jackson to get my fix when i needed them, it's good being back in Texas

lolol.. the other night i was having really bad stomach pains and thought possibly might be my appendix... first thing friend says is "i call dibs on big pilot" was funny as hell.
